Iris + Esteban Adventure Elopement || Ogden Dunes
SECRET BEACH ELOPEMENT
What could be better than a secret elopement on the beach? Summertime is the perfect time to sneak away to the dunes for a lakeside elopement or adventure session! We met Esteban and Iris on the sandy hills overlooking Lake Michigan in the middle of July. They were the perfect couple to exemplify all that a Lake Michigan adventure elopement can really be. The beauty of an elopement is you can craft your day to be anything you would like. If you don’t like cake, for instance, you can always have donuts instead. If you are more private people, it can always be just the two of you saying your vows to each other as the waves crash around you. Then you can fill your day with activities that the two of you love to do together versus having a traditional timeline filled with expectations from other people. Your dress may get a little dirty, but the memories will last a lifetime. There’s nothing better than doing the things you love with the person you love the most in the whole world. This elopement was styled by Hiedi Nguyen and she put together a fabulous team of creative vendors that helped make this day a reality. For more information, you can check out their work with the links located in the vendor section to the right.

OGDEN DUNES NEAR CHESTERTON
Originally we planned to complete this session with Iris and Esteban at Indiana Dunes National Park in Chesterton, Indiana, but we were unfortunately not very lucky with the weather. Some storms had rolled in throughout that week so we made a quick decision to change our location. Hiedi, who styled the session, helped find a new location at Ogden Dunes near Chesterton. This spot has amazing water access and is all-around stunning. The wind and the effect it had on the water created amazing dramatic scenes that really completed the overall look of this beautiful beach adventure elopement. In order to elope at the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore, you will have to acquire a permit from the park rangers. You can click here for more information about permits for the national park. You do not need a permit to have a wedding at the Indiana Dunes State Park, but it does have to be pre-approved by the park at least two weeks in advance.
